Meet the Gravity Circus Teachers…

Watch the video from Glastonbury 2014
Alien Forms and Raw Humanity

This show was created under the direction of Leo and Yam and the Gravity Circus Centre.

Read the review from “The Circus Diaries

Alien Forms and Raw Humanity is an aerial ballet in three distinct movements, taking us on a surprising journey to re-evaluate what it means to live freely as our most natural selves, away from gender-related expectations.

The production was the winner of Glastonbury Festival’s large scale circus commission, and has allowed long-standing duo Leo Hedman and Yam Doyev to work further with 4 recent graduates from their Gravity Circus Centre professional training course. It’s a testament to the strength of their teaching and direction that it’s impossible to tell the difference between the new performers and the regular aerialists, who bring the company total to 8.”

What Our Participants Say

Natasha Barrow

I joined Gravity in October 2013 and fell in love with everyone from the start. I’ve made a lot of friends there. I’d been to a few places to do hoop before but I loved the passion, commitment and drive of everyone who trains there. I think it’s great that beginners get to train with seasoned professionals as it is incredibly inspiring to see how the hard work pays off. All of our teachers are experienced performers and to see the different techniques they use for tricks means that you can find what best suits you. As a working mum, the flexibility of the courses is perfect for me, I don’t have to sign up for 6 weeks knowing that I can only attend 3 (for example), and I can train to my heart’s content for £8 which is really cost effective.

Rob Lyndon

I’m Rob Lyndon, and I’ve been training at Gravity for three years. I thoroughly recommend the centre and the teachers. The space is as high as any you will find in the UK, and the teachers are second to none in their commitment, talent, dedication and attention to detail. My only warning is that if you start coming, you’ll find it difficult to stop. And you’ll need some new shirts after a few months.
